Recess is proud to host the Second Annual Doubles Pickleball for Pink Tournament at Ski Shores Cafe on Lake Austin on October 29, 2023!
The event is a 16-team tournament bracket with good music, a fun fan section, and all the winning cross-court dinks you can hit. We are partnering with breast cancer survivor and friend of Recess, Hattie Sherman, to raise awareness about breast cancer in younger women and the need for further research.
Shortly after Hattie's 27th birthday, she found a suspicious lump in her chest. After meeting with her doctor, Hattie learned she had an aggressive form of breast cancer. Throughout her treatment and recovery, Hattie realized a lack of research and resources available for women with this disease, especially for younger women. All of the profits from the event will be donated to Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
