“I believe in and talk about the ‘joy of play’ in all aspects of life, though I’m usually referring to art and design. Now it’s fun to actually talk about playing a sport! When I started playing pickleball, I did a deep dive looking for gear that would match my style; something neutral, simple, tonal. Finding that nearly everything had a neon streak across it, I was thankful to discover Recess, which already had beautiful paddles. After sending them a message to collaborate, I was able to create handmade and simple ink designs I had made while painting with my daughter. I finally had gear I was happy to hit the court with, and that now matches everything else in my life."
